About Tulsa

Tulsa has been a city since sometime in the 1800s and has a very rich history of struggle. It was once a primary factor in the American oil industry, but has since turned its economic endeavors in other directions. It is located in the area of the U.S. known as "tornado alley" and has suffered severe damages due to huge tornadoes in the past.

While much of the city is flat land, there are some mountains and hills located in certain areas as well. These areas provide state parks and outdoor adventure for locals as well as visitors. The city has invested considerable amounts of funding into developing shopping and other amusements along the hillsides of the city.

This city also has a large presence in the world of auto and stock car racing. The Tulsa Speedway is frequently used for auto races while the Tulsa Raceway is used for stock car racing.

Yet, most people who visit Tulsa, Oklahoma end up catching a show or concert at one of the entertainment venues. Some of the more popular locations for these events include the Brady Theater and the Tulsa Convention Center. The Tulsa Opera and Tulsa Ballet are also popular features with some visitors.
