How Our Courses Work
Studying for the Exam
Each course includes complete online training material based on the current AHA manual. The training material covers everything you will need to know to successfully pass the exam for your course, so you will not need anything else to prepare. For your convenience, the training material is also available in PDF format so you can easily print it out if you'd like to study for your exam away from the computer.

Taking the Exam
Each course includes an open-book online exam that is designed to test your knowledge of important concepts, skills and techniques. The exam is into sections corresponding to the online training material and the AHA manual. Exams are graded automatically as soon as you submit your answers. For your convenience, a printable PDF version of the exam is available if you'd like to use it to prepare away from the computer.
Passing the Exam
Exams are graded automatically as soon as they are submitted. You will need to score 80% or better to successfully pass the exam.
If you pass the exam:
- You will be able to download an instant provider card directly from the exam results page. The instant card will be an Adobe PDF file that you can view and print with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader program. This will allow you to have instant proof of your certification as soon as you pass your exam, day or night, 24/7/365.

- We will mail your hard copy provider card to you. Free shipping for your hard copy provider card is included for customers within the United States. We ship hard copy provider cards daily Monday through Friday by United States Postal Services First Class mail and they typically arrive within 2 - 5 business days for customers in the United States.
If you do not pass the exam:
- The exam results page will display a list of any questions answered incorrectly, so you can then review the appropriate part(s) of the online training material until you feel prepared to retake the exam.
- You can then retake the exam. Each course includes 3 free retakes, for a total of 4 exam attempts.
Getting Your Card
- You will be able to download an instant provider card as soon as you pass your exam 24/7/365. This makes our courses a great solution for customers who need instant proof of certification outside of normal business hours.
- Hard copy provider cards are shipped via United States Postal Service First Class mail (regular ground), so they typically arrive within 2 - 5 business days for customers within the United States. International delivery can take up to 2 - 4 weeks, depending on time of year and destination country.
- If you ordered express shipping, then your hard copy provider card will arrive the following business day after you pass the exam. Express international shipping generally takes several business days, depending on the destination country.
Replacement Cards
If you lose your card at some point and need another, please contact us for a replacement card.
