Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I take your course for my initial ACLS certification?
Yes. Our ACLS Certification Course is designed for medical professionals in need of initial certification. This course includes the AHA ACLS Provider Manual for studying, along with both email and hard copy cards, online exam with instant grading, and more.

2. Can I take your course if I have been certified in the past?
Yes. Our ACLS Recertification Course is designed for medical professionals who have already been certified in the past. This course includes both email and hard copy cards, online exam with instant grading, and more. If you need study material, you may also purchase the AHA ACLS Provider Manual with this course.

3. Can I take your course if my ACLS certification has expired?
Yes. You can take our ACLS Recertification Course whether your previous certification is active or expired.

4. Will I need to pass a skills test with your program?
No. Neither our certification or recertification course requires you to pass a skills test with manikins.

However, if you purchase our AHA ACLS Course, you will need to successfully pass a skills test after completing the cognitive course on the CD in order to get your AHA ACLS card.

5. Does your course make me use a login or password?
No. Once you purchase the desired course you will receive a link to the exam page. This page contains all the exam questions and spaces for you to enter all of your answers.

6. Can I print out the exam when taking it or do I need to stay by the computer?
Yes. For your convenience, a printable version of the exam is available that you can print if you'd like. This way you can study and/or fill out your answers away from the computer, then come back to the computer and enter your answers.

7. How do I submit my answers for the exam?
All the exam questions are multiple choice, so you select the correct answer underneath each exam question. Once you've selected all your answers on the page, then you submit them by clicking a Submit Answers button. After you submit your answers, they will be graded automatically within a few minutes.

8. Is there a time limit for taking the exam?
No. You can spend as much time on the exam as you need. In fact, we encourage you to not rush through the exam too quickly, but to answer each question methodically and then double-check your answers.

9. How quickly will my answers be graded?
Exams are graded automatically within a few minutes after they have been submitted. You will receive an automatic email from the system after your exam has been graded to let you know if you passed or not.

10. What happens if I don't pass the exam?
If you don't pass the exam, the system will email you with a list of the questions you missed and the number of missed questions you need to get correct to pass. It's a good idea to then brush up on the questions or sections you had trouble with. You can then retake the exam. Our course includes 3 free retakes.

11. Will I receive an American Heart Association ACLS card after I pass the exam?
No. The American Heart Association does not currently endorse ANY online-only certification or recertification course. When you complete one of our online courses you will receive an ACLS card from Pacific Medical Training.

In general, our online courses will work fine for you if your employer does not specifically mandate AHA certification/recertification. If your employer does specify AHA certification or recertification, then you will need to purchase our AHA ACLS course. See our AHA ACLS Course page for more information.

12. Do you offer an American Heart Association-approved course?
Yes. For medical professionals whose employers specifically mandate AHA certification or recertification, we offer the official AHA ACLS Anywhere course. This is a CD-based course that allows you to learn about ACLS and pass a written test. You will also need to pass a skills test after taking this course before you get your AHA ACLS card. See our AHA ACLS Course page for more information.

13. When will I receive my ACLS card?
Cards are normally mailed by USPS First Class mail, so they generally take between 2 and 5 business days to arrive. If you are in a time crunch, Next Day shipping is available for an extra $30.

14. How long will my certification be good for?
Your certification will be good for 2 years.

15. What are your business hours?
Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM Pacific Time (PST).

16. How do I contact you?
See our Contact Us page.

17. What business name will show up on my credit card statement after I purchase your course?
Pacific Medical Training

18. What is the refund policy for your course?
If you purchase one of our courses or study materials and decide you would like a refund, please send an email to . One of our staff members will then contact you to arrange the refund. If you purchased physical products, such as an AHA Provider Manual or AHA ACLS Anywhere CD, then you will need to return them to us before getting a refund. All physical products need to be in new condition (i.e. shrink wrap intact), for us to issue a refund.
