About Atlanta

Atlanta was formed as a city in 1847 and today stands as one of the premier business areas of the country. It is home to many iconic American companies, including Cocoa-Cola, and these affiliations have largely defined the business atmosphere of the city. Wherever you go, there are large landmark reminders of the presence of such large, powerful company headquarters.

For instance, the Old World of Cocoa-Cola Museum has a large red logo statue which is hard to miss when you pass by. It is located right on a city loop that leads tourists through some of the most prominent landmarks of Atlanta. Walking this loop will also lead visitors to an aquarium, a children's museum, and even to the famous Centennial Olympic Park.

For visitors who enjoy getting outdoors to view the natural landscape of the city, there are regular biking tours which go through the main destinations in the city.

There are also state parks which grant access to nature up close and personal. Most visitors spend some time at nearby Stone Mountain Park, which offers more than the usual hiking and picnicking. It also offers craft exhibits, live music, a 4D theater, sky ride, and a scenic railway. Visitors can even enjoy a laser light show during particular times.

From the big city landmarks of the major businesses to the natural terrain of the state park, there is definitely a diverse selection of activity to be found in Atlanta, Georgia.
